Abstract:
A power supply apparatus (20) including a push-pull-type inverter circuit (21) that outputs AC power to a capacitive discharge load (31) is provided with a control device (40) that alternately drives switches (SW1, SW2) by using a drive frequency not higher than but approximate to the resonance frequency of a resonance circuit (30) having a discharge load capacity and having a secondary side equivalent value of a leakage inductance between the primary side and the secondary side of a transformer (Tr), and that calculates the ratio of: the outputtable power of the inverter circuit which is determined in accordance with the drive frequency and the output voltage of the inverter circuit; and a target value of supply power to be supplied to the discharge load. In a predetermined cycle, the control device uses, as an output period, a time period corresponding to the mathematical product of the predetermined cycle and the ratio calculated by a calculation unit, and alternately turns on the switches for the output period.
