Abstract:
A power supply control device is provided between a power source and a current path and includes: a switch circuit which changes over between current passageand non-current passage from the power source to a load; and a current path protection circuit. The current path protection circuit controls changeover performed by the switch circuit in accordance with a current passage instruction signal (input SW signal) which instructs commencement or termination of current passage to the load, and calculates the temperature (Tw) of the current path, and also inhibits the passage of current by the switch circuit if the temperature (Tw) of the current path thus calculated reaches a prescribed upper limit value (Tsm). Furthermore, when the passage of current by the switch circuit is inhibited, said inhibition of the passage of current by the switch circuit is cancelled if the temperature of the current path falls to a prescribed threshold temperature value (th).
