Abstract:
In a step-down switching power supply device (1), an output transistor (M1) is used to generate output voltage (Vout) by switching input voltage (Vin). In the switching power supply device, when feedback voltage (Vfb), which is dependent on the output voltage, is lower than a prescribed reference voltage (Vref2), an output short-circuit is occurring, and a short-circuit protection operation stops a switching operation. However, when the input voltage and the output voltage fulfill a prescribed condition, the short-circuit protection operation is masked.
