A power supply system for a magnetic bearing and a control method therefor. The system comprises: a rectifying and filtering circuit (1) for performing rectifying and filtering processing on an alternating-current input power source, so as to obtain a first direct-current bus voltage and then divide same into two paths, wherein one path of the first direct-current bus voltage supplies power to a motor controller (5) of an eclectic motor (6) that a magnetic bearing (3) belongs to; a power acquisition circuit (9) for acquiring power from the other path of the first direct-current bus voltage, so as to obtain a second direct-current bus voltage, wherein the second direct-current bus voltage is within an allowable input voltage range of a DC-DC power source (2); and the DC-DC power source (2) for converting the second direct-current bus voltage into a third direct-current bus voltage and supplying power to a bearing controller (4) of the magnetic bearing (3). The power supply system for a magnetic bearing and the control method therefor can overcome the defects in the prior art, such as a poor power supply stability, a complex structure and poor reliability.
