Abstract:
The present application relates to the field of charging, and provides a power supply system and method for a terminal device, a chip, and a terminal device. The power supply system comprises: a battery pack, a bypass circuit, a bucking circuit, and a controller. The battery pack comprises at least two batteries. The output end of the battery pack is connected to the input end of the bucking circuit, and the output end of the bucking circuit is connected to a power consumption element of a terminal device. One end of the bypass circuit is connected to the input end of the bucking circuit, and the other end of the bypass circuit is connected to the output end of the bucking circuit. The controller is configured, when the batteries in the battery pack need to be switched to a serial connection mode, to control the bucking circuit to operate and the bypass circuit to stop operating, and is further configured, when the batteries in the battery pack need to be switched to a parallel connection mode, to control the bypass circuit to operate and the bucking circuit to stop operating. The system can automatically implement the switching between a serial connection mode and a parallel connection mode according to actual situations, thereby increasing runtime while improving the stability of a terminal device.
