This power supply unit (10) for an aerosol inhaler (1) comprises: a power supply (12); a discharge terminal (41) to which is connected a heater (21) that consumes electric power supplied from the power supply (12) and that heats an aerosol source (22); a charging terminal (43) that can be connected to an external power supply; and an IC (700) configured to include a fourth FET (104). The fourth FET (104) connects the power supply (12) and the charging terminal (43). The IC (700) is provided with a terminal (701) that can connect to a fifth FET (105) provided externally from the IC (700), the fourth FET (104) and the fifth FET (105) connected to the terminal (701) being connected in parallel to one another.
