Disclosed are a power over Ethernet method, device and system. The method comprises: a power supplying device performing multiple times of detection by means of an Ethernet port thereof connected to an intermediate device, wherein the number of times of detection performed by the power supplying device is equal to the number of power supplying ports of the intermediate device; and if a result of at least one of the multiple times of detection is valid, the power supplying device sending a power supply indication to the intermediate device and supplying power to the connected port. The power supplying device can supply power over the intermediate device to a power receiving device connected to the intermediate device, thereby preventing power loss caused by voltage conversion.
