Title:
POWER-THEFT DETECTION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING POWER THEFT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/145281
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A power-theft detection device (100) is mounted on a power-transmitting device (10) provided with a power-transmitting unit (13) disposed opposing a power-receiving unit (23) of a power-receiving device (20), and a power-supplying unit (12) for supplying alternating-current electrical power to the power-transmitting unit. The power-theft detection device electrically isolates the power-transmitting unit from the power-supplying unit, and also controls a short-circuiting means (SW1, SW2) capable of short-circuiting an input unit of the power-transmitting unit, and a current-detecting means (102) for detecting current flowing to the power-transmitting unit, and when detecting power theft, (i) controls the short-circuiting means so as to electrically isolate the power-transmitting unit from the power-supplying unit, and also to short-circuit the input unit of the power-transmitting unit, and is further provided with (ii) a control means (101) for transmitting to the power-receiving device a signal showing a request to open the power-receiving unit, and an assessment means (101) for assessing, when detecting power theft, whether power is being stolen, on the basis of the detected current.
