Abstract:
A power tool (10) is provided with: a control circuit (22) that controls the driving of a motor (16a); a switching circuit (21) that is connected to the control circuit (22) via signal lines (21b, 23b), and that outputs a signal for driving the motor (16a); and an authentication unit (23) that transmits and receives information pertaining to tool usage rights to and from authenticators worn by users. The authentication unit (23) is provided separately to the control circuit (22) and is electrically connected between the control circuit (22) and the switching circuit (21) via the signal lines (21b, 23b). The authentication unit (23) controls the passage and cut off of signals transmitted on the signal lines (21b, 23b) on the basis of the results of the authentication pertaining to the tool usage rights.
