Abstract:
A power tool including an electrical motor unit that is connectable to a battery unit is disclosed. According to the invention, the power tool includes a step-up converter that is connectable between the battery unit and the electrical motor unit, which is arranged for converting, when enabled, a battery voltage Ubattery that is provided to the step-up converter to a higher step-up voltage Ustep-up; Ustep-up > Ubattery. The step-up voltage Ustep-up is then provided to the electrical motor unit as an output voltage Uoutput; Uoutput=Ustep-up · The power tool also includes a bypass circuit that is arranged in parallel with the step-up converter. The bypass circuit connects, when enabled, the battery unit to the electrical motor unit, thereby providing battery voltage Ubattery to the electrical motor unit as an output voltage Uoutput; Uoutput=Ubattery At least one control unit is arranged for controlling the step-up converter and the bypass circuit such that the output voltage Uoutput may be switched between the battery voltage Ubattery and the step-up voltage Ustep-up
