Abstract:
In order to provide a power tool for which an increase in the size of the product can be prevented in a configuration wherein a reactor is provided in the current path of the motor, a power tool 1 is equipped with: a motor 6; a diode bridge 15 for converting alternating-current power to direct-current power and supplying the direct-current power to the motor 6; an electrolytic capacitor C2 provided between the output terminals of the diode bridge 15; a choke coil L2 provided in the current path between the diode bridge 15 and the motor 6; and a switching element Q7 provided in parallel with the choke coil L2. A computation unit 21 cuts off the switching element Q7 when a load is less than a prescribed value, and electrically connects the switching element Q7 when a load is equal to or greater than the prescribed value.
