A power transmission device having an electric motor and a power transmission mechanism, where ease of assembly of a rotor is improved. The power transmission device has the electric motor (2) having the rotor (13) placed on the inner peripheral side of a stator (12) in a concentric manner and also has the power transmission mechanism (1). A part (7) of a specific constituting member of the power transmission mechanism (1) is projected to the stator (12) side or the rotor (13) side with the center axis of the part aligned with that of the stator (12) or the rotor (13). The rotor (13) is movably fitted over the outer peripheral side of the projected part (7), and a gap (C) into which a guide sleeve for moving the rotor (13) in the direction of its axis is provided between the outer peripheral surface of the projected part (7) and the inner peripheral surface of the rotor (13).
