Abstract:
A ring gear (CR) of a planetary gear train(24) for distribution constituting a front and rear wheel power distribution unit (14) is coupled as an input rotational element to a differential output member (22), a carrier (CCA) thereof is coupled as a first output rotational element to a rear wheel (34), and a sun gear (CS) thereof is coupled as a second output rotational element to a front wheel (44). Therefore, differential rotations of the first output rotational element (carrier (CCA)) and the second output rotational element (sun gear (CS)) can be restricted or allowed by controlling the operating condition, that is, rotational speed and torque, of a first motor generator (MG1) of a power generation unit (11) to control the rotational speed of the ring gear (CR) serving as the input rotational element and changeability of the rotational speed. Thus, the need for additionally providing a mechanical differential control means such as a clutch or a disc spring is eliminated, and the device can be constituted simply and inexpensively.
