Abstract:
Provided is a power transmission device that can minimize interference between the meshing surfaces of a clutch member and a pressure member, even if sticking torque occurs between a driving-side clutch plate and a trailing-side clutch plate. The power transmission device comprises a clutch housing 2 having attached thereto a plurality of driving-side clutch plates 6, a clutch member 4 connected to a shaft 3, and a pressure member 5 that can press or release the pressing force between the driving-side clutch plate 6 and the trailing-side clutch plate 7. By pressing or releasing the pressing force between the driving-side clutch plate 6 and the trailing side clutch plate 7, the rotational force applied to a gear 1 can be transmitted or cut off from a shaft 3. The power transmission device is able to impart a resisting force that resists the relative rotation between the clutch member 4 and the pressure member 5, and said resisting force is set to be equal to or greater than the sticking torque between the driving-side clutch plates 6 and the trailing-side clutch plate 7.
