Abstract:
Provided is a power transmission device with which the arrangement position in a water depth direction of a coil for transmitting power underwater can easily be changed. This power transmission device (100) transmits power to a power reception device (200) having a power reception coil (CLB) underwater. The power transmission device (100) is provided with: one or more transmission coils including a power transmission coil (CLA) for transmitting power to the power reception coil (CLB) through a magnetic field; a power transmission unit that transmits AC power to the power transmission coil (CLA); a capacitor which is connected to the transmission coil and forms a resonance circuit (152) that resonates with the transmission coil; a first pipe-like member which has waterproofness and shields the vicinity of the transmission coil; a second pipe-like member which surrounds the first pipe-like member and has a plurality of holes; and an adjustment unit (390) which adjusts the amount of air in a gap between the first pipe-like member and the second pipe-like member.
