Title:
POWER TRANSMISSION OF TURBO-COMPOUND ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1990/009515
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention relates to a power transmission of turbo-compound engines, adapted to transmit the power generated by a waste heat recovery turbine to a power system of an engine without using a fluid coupling. In this power transmission (A), the transmission of the torsional vibration of a crankshaft (2) to a waste heat recovery turbine (15) is minimized, and the construction of a power transmission is simplified, by transmitting the power recovered by the waste heat recovery turbine (15) to an input shaft (6), which is connected to the crankshaft (2), via a flywheel (3), a rubber block (4) and a spider (5), or to the crankshaft (2) via a one-way clutch and a rubber belt, and a decrease in the performance of the engine during a low-load operation of the engine and the acceleration thereof is prevented by providing the one-way clutch.
