Provided is a power transmitting device having a planetary gear mechanism. The planetary gear mechanism is configured such that a support shaft which is supported by a carrier, has planetary gears rotatably fitted thereto, and supports the planetary gears is provided with an axially extending oil hole and also with a discharge hole having an inner end which is in communication with the oil hole and also having an outer end which is open to the outer peripheral surface of the support shaft. A support shaft (34) has: an axially extending oil hole (h1); a discharge hole (h2) having an inner end which is in communication with the oil hole (h1) and also having an outer end which is open to the outer peripheral surface of the support shaft (34); and an engagement section (K) provided at one end (34a) of the support shaft (34), with the other end (34b) of the support shaft (34) being affixed to a carrier (35). A power transmitting member (10) is provided with a section (S) to be engaged, which is engaged with an engagement section (K) to enable the support shaft (34) to be positioned such that the outer end of the discharge hole (h2) faces outward in the radial direction of the carrier (35). The abovementioned configuration enables the support shaft to be easily positioned so that the discharge hole is directed outward in the radial direction of the carrier, man-hours for positioning and affixing the support shaft to be reduced, and the easiness of assembling to be improved.
