Abstract:
Provided is a power unit in which, in an EV driving mode, the loss due to power circulation can be prevented and the driving efficiency can be enhanced. In the power unit (1), the first to fourth elements (R1, C1, S2, S1, C2, R2) of power transmission mechanisms (PS1, PS2) are each linked to a first motor (11), an engine (3), driven portions (DW, DW), and a second motor (21), wherein the power transmission mechanisms (PS1, PS2) rotate while maintaining a collinear relationship in the number of rotations during mutual power transmission and are configured so as to sequentially align in a collinear diagram representing the relationship in the number of rotations. In addition, during the EV driving mode, the operations of the first and second motors (11, 21) are controlled so that a power circulation does not occur in which a part of the motive power output from one of both the motors (11, 21) is converted to an electric power at the other motor and then the electric power is input to the one motor and thereby output again as an motive power from the one motor.
