Abstract:
This radar device is provided with: a transmission unit which transmits radar waves frequency-modulated such that one measurement cycle includes an up section in which the frequency gradually increases and a down section in which the frequency gradually decreases; a receiving unit which derives a beat signal from the up sections and down sections; and a signal processing unit which performs precipitation determination processing based on the results of analyzing the beat signal. In this precipitation determination processing, if the result of frequency analysis of the beat signal is that there is no object present in the transmission range of the radar waves (S350: NO), then it is determined whether or not the degree of spectrum matching between a precipitation reference spectrum and the frequency spectrum of the up sections and down sections is greater than or equal to a prescribed threshold value set in advance, and if the result of this determination is that the degree of spectrum matching is greater than or equal to the prescribed threshold value, then it is determined that precipitation is present (S360-S380).
