Title:
PRECIPITATION PARTICLE IDENTIFICATION DEVICE, PRECIPITATION PARTICLE IDENTIFICATION METHOD, AND PRECIPITATION PARTICLE IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/111641
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a precipitation particle identification device that is capable of more accurately identifying a precipitation particle by making effective use of polarization parameters. [Solution] A precipitation particle identification device comprising an acquisition unit, a data processing unit, a distribution data generation unit, a distribution data analysis unit, and an identification processing unit. The acquisition unit acquires a horizontally polarized reception signal and a vertically polarized reception signal obtained by transceiving horizontally polarized waves and vertically polarized waves. The data processing unit acquires radar reflection factor information and reflection factor difference information that constitute polarization parameters calculated on the basis of the horizontally polarized reception signal and the vertically polarized reception signal. The distribution data generation unit generates distribution data illustrating the relationship between the radar reflection factor information and the reflection factor difference information in a plurality of sampling regions subsumed in a region to be identified. The distribution data analysis unit calculates, on the basis of the distribution data, an evaluation value used to identify precipitation particle type. The identification processing unit identifies, on the basis of the evaluation value, the type of precipitation particles present in the region to be identified.
