Abstract:
Provided is a preform production method by which it is possible to produce a high-grade preform that, by preventing wrinkling and cracking in a reinforcing-fiber substrate, has no disturbances in the reinforcing-fibers. Prior to main molding for obtaining a fiber-reinforced resin molded article in the desired shape, this preform production method shapes a reinforcing-fiber substrate A, which contains reinforcing fibers and a resin component comprising a matrix resin or a binder resin, into a prescribed shape to obtain a preform. The production method is characterized in that when shaping the reinforcing-fiber substrate A, a temperature difference is produced within the pressure welding range of the reinforcing-fiber substrate A.
