Abstract:
A smart card read unit for a prepaid card is provided on a cellular phone set. A call is made by using the prepaid card, and the prepaid telephone charge is reduced each time the telephone is used, whereby the collection of the telephone charge is carried out by an advance payment (prepaid) system. Therefore, the illegal use of a telephone concerning the payment of telephone charge which occurs in a post-payment system becomes impossible. A smart card read unit (2) is provided on a cellular phone set (1), and a smart card (3) for paying a telephone charge as well.
