Abstract:
The present invention provides: a prepreg that yields a carbon-fiber-reinforced composite material having exceptional mode I interlayer toughness, mode II interlayer toughness, and tensile strength; and a carbon-fiber-reinforced composite material. This prepreg includes components [A]-[C] and satisfies conditions (I) and (II). [A]: carbon fibers, [B]: an epoxy resin, [C]: a curing agent of [B]. (I): The surface oxygen concentration O/C of [A] as measured by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is 0.10 or higher. (II): A cured product obtained by curing [B] and [C] includes a resin region that has molecular anisotropy and exhibits an interference pattern when observed by a polarized optical microscope in a crossed-Nicols state.
