Abstract:
Disclosed is a prepreg winding method comprising: a step of providing a bed, a mandrel which can be brought into and out of contact with the bed, and a pressing-roll which can be brought into and out of contact with the mandrel and has an axis line parallel to the axis line of the mandrel; a step of mounting on the bed a prepreg formed of a thermosetting resin sheet impregnated with reinforcing fibers; a step of winding around the mandrel the leading end of the prepreg mounted on the bed, and applying force to press the bed and the mandrel against each other and press the mandrel and the pressing-roll against each other with the prepreg being sandwiched between the mandrel and the bed and between the mandrel and the pressing-roll; and a step of, with the bed, the mandrel, and the pressing-roll being thus pressed against one another, applying force to move the bed and the mandrel relative to each other in a direction perpendicular to but not intersecting the axis line of the mandrel so as to rotate the mandrel and the pressing-roll and thereby wind the prepreg around the mandrel.
