Abstract:
A press belt that excels in cracking resistance, wear and abrasion resistance and resistance to pressure deformation, exhibiting excellent traveling characteristics; a process for producing the same; and a shoe press roll using the press belt. There is provided a press belt for use in a press machine fitted with press belt (2) of endless configuration capable of rolling travel and press means (1, 3), which press belt has both-edge-portion corresponding regions (B, B') that correspond to both edge portions along the width of the press means and center region (A) that is interposed between the both-edge-portion corresponding regions, the press belt composed mainly of a thermosetting polyurethane obtained from a raw material containing a phenylene isocyanate derivative having an isocyanate group (NCO) at its terminal and a curing agent having an active hydrogen group (H) at its terminal, wherein the equivalent ratio of active hydrogen group to isocyanate group (H/NCO) is relatively high at the both-edge-portion corresponding regions and is relatively low at the center region. Further, there is provided a process for producing the press belt.
