Abstract:
There is disclosed a press die formed of a cement-based composition, comprising a punch and a blank holder which are portions cut from a punch-and-blank holder forming member formed by transfer from a master model or cutting a hardened block. There is also disclosed a method of manufacturing a press die formed of a cement-based composition, the method comprising forming a punch-and-blank holder forming member by transfer from a master model or cutting a hardened block, and cutting the member by means of a wire saw along the profile of a punch starting from a through hole made at a point of the profile to thus form a punch and a blank holder. By the method, a punch and a blank holder can be simultaneously manufactured, reduction of labor of the manufacturing processes and shortening of the manufacture time are achieved, and a punch and a blank holder which has a predetermined clearance at the fitting part of the punch to the blank holder and has a high machining accuracy is manufactured.
