Abstract:
Lightweight press forming dies are provided. Dies (2, 32) are characterized in that a pattern forming section which makes contact with a workpiece during press forming and provides the workpiece with a desired pattern is configured from bar-like members (pattern forming bars (4, 34)). Since the pattern forming section is configured from the bar-like members, the dies are lightweight. Preferably, the dies (2, 32) are also provided with support bars (6, 36, etc.) for supporting the pattern forming bars (4, 34), and the bar-like members form a framework structure.
