Abstract:
When forming a forming article having a flange which curves so that a recess or protrusion is formed on a channel bottom-part side, this press forming method involves carrying out a first forming step using a first mold and a second forming step using a second mold. The angle formed between a vertical-wall forming part in a first channel-shape forming part (9) of the first mold and a first flange-forming part (11) is set to be greater than the angle formed between a vertical-wall forming part in a second channel-shape forming part (17) of the second mold and a second flange-forming part (19). The press forming method is characterized in that a forming article is press formed so that, in the first forming step, residual strain which is generated in a flange (125) of the forming article and which causes changes in a longitudinal-direction line length is cancelled in the second forming step by deforming the line length in a reverse manner.
