Abstract:
This pressed powder formed body has a cross section circumference around the magnetic path cross section of greater than 20 mm when the pressed powder formed body is used as a magnetic core, and at least a portion of the pressed powder formed body surface is covered by an iron-based oxide film of 0.5 μm to 10.0 μm inclusive in average thickness. When the proportion of the surface area with respect to the volume of the pressed powder formed body is surface area/volume, and the pressed powder formed body is 100% by volume, the amount of Fe3O4 contained in the iron-based oxide film satisfies any one among (1) to (3) below: (1) the amount is less than 0.085% by volume when surface area/volume is 0.40 mm-1 or lower, (2) the amount is 0.12% by volume or less when surface area/volume is greater than 0.40 mm-1 but lower or equal to 0.60 mm-1, and (3) the amount is 0.15% by volume or less when surface area/volume is greater than 0.60 mm-1.
