Abstract:
A pressure detection system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises: a plurality of first optical fibers arranged at a constant interval from each other and having at least one light leakage unit formed therein; a plurality of second optical fibers arranged at a constant interval from each other to intersect with the first optical fibers and having at least one light leakage unit formed therein; an optical signal transmission module for generating an optical signal and outputting the optical signal to the inside of the first and second optical fibers via one end portion of each fiber thereof; an optical signal receiving module for receiving the optical signal output from the first and second optical fibers, converting the optical signal to an electric signal and outputting the electric signal; and a control unit for analyzing the optical signal output from the optical signal receiving module and determining light transmission rates of the first and second optical fibers, wherein the light leakage unit is cut and formed in the direction that intersects with the longitudinal direction of the first and second optical fibers, and the light leakage amount from the optical fibers varies depending on the bending degree of the first and second optical fibers. Therefore, the system according to the present invention is capable of determining light transmission rates of respective optical fibers intersecting with each other to easily ascertain the pressure and pressure distribution applied onto a certain plane. Furthermore, due to using optical fibers having a cheap unit cost, the present invention has an effect of significantly reducing the manufacturing costs as well as reducing the workload for follow-up management such as exchange of the optical fibers when a failure or breakage occurs.
