Abstract:

A pressure-developing unit that effects pressure development while moving on the surface of a psycolor medium, is provided with a first rotary member which is opposed to a platen to perform pressure development of a recording paper, and a second rotary member which transmits the load of the first rotary member to a carriage shaft. When the pressure-developing unit is moved along the carriage shaft, the first and second rotary members rotate the recording paper and the carriage shaft in the forward direction without generating any friction. Thus, the pressure-developing unit can be moved while generating only rolling friction of the carriage shaft. Accordingly, a small motor can be used, making it possible to realize a recording apparatus which is small is size and consumes a low electric power.
