Abstract:
A pressure release device used to discharge gas hydrate, created under pressure higher
than the atmospheric pressure, to an atmospheric pressure environment. A gas
hydrate discharge path is composed of a restriction section having a cross-sectional area
continuously reduced in the discharge direction and of a parallel section having
a constant cross-sectional area and connected to that side of the restriction section
which has a smaller cross-sectional area. At one end of the parallel section,
there are provided a casing having a discharge opening at the atmospheric pressure,
a screw placed in the casing, across from the restriction section to the parallel
section, and a drive unit for rotating the screw. The drive unit rotates the screw
to move the gas hydrate in the discharge direction while pressing and compacting
it at the restriction section, continuously discharging the gas hydrate from
the discharge opening in the parallel section to the atmospheric pressure environment.
