Abstract:
A touch input device according to an embodiment is capable of detecting the pressure of a touch on a touch surface, and comprises a display module and a pressure sensor that is disposed at a position, the distance between the position and a reference potential layer being changeable as a result of the touch on the touch surface. The distance is variable depending on the magnitude of the pressure of the touch. The pressure sensor can output a signal including information about an electrostatic capacity that varies depending on the distance. The pressure sensor includes multiple electrodes so as to form multiple channels, and can detect the magnitude of the pressure of the touch on the basis of the amount of change in the electrostatic capacity detected from each of the channels.
