Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a pretreatment agent for a chemical conversion treatment that can form a chemical conversion film and improve, when the chemical conversion is formed, corrosion resistance of an edge burr part as well as adhesiveness of the chemical conversion film to the painted film; and a technology such as a pretreatment method for chemical conversion treatment that uses the pretreatment agent. The problem is solved by a metal-material pretreatment agent used in pretreatment for a chemical conversion treatment to form a chemical conversion film on or above the surface of a metal material, wherein the pretreatment agent is formulated with water and at least one polymer exhibiting water solubility or water dispersibility selected from a polymer with -NH2, a polymer with -NH2 and -NH2-, and a polymer with -NH-.
