Abstract:

Provided is an oyster with greater added value. This pretreatment agent for shipping oyster is characterized in containing genus Dunaliella algae. This pretreatment method for shipping oyster is characterized in that the oyster is caused to ingest the pretreatment agent prior to shipment. This method for coloring oyster is characterized in that the oyster is caused to ingest the pretreatment agent prior to shipment. This method for manufacturing oyster is characterized in that the oyster is subjected to the pretreatment method or the coloring method. This oyster is characterized in being obtained using the manufacturing method. According to the present invention, pretreating the oyster prior to shipment allows carotenoids to be accumulated in the oyster. For this reason, the oyster meat can be colored red. A visual impact can thereby be imparted and the appetite whetted, the nutritional value provided by carotene can be enhanced, and value addition to the oyster can be increased.
