The escalator can trap our clothing when we are using it, the side edge and the front edge of the escalator can trap our clothing if we are not careful. So a newly design to prevent clothing been trap into the escalator is here, it is using the two way switch and the theory of lever in mechanism to prevent the incident to happen.

Figure 1 shown a two two way switch is operating, one two way switch(X) is inside the escalator, the other two way switch (Y) is out side and on the escalator, when one switch has been off the whole escalator's electrical system will be off.
Figure 2 shown a mechanical trip is used by using the theory of lever(A). By tripping the electrical system to stop the electricity of the escalator, when someone's clothing has been trapped into the escalator. (M) is the spring and (x) is the two way switch inside the escalator. Figure 3 shown the clothing(B) has been trap into the escalator, once you pull your clothing(B), the front part of the lever(C) from the escalator will be pull upward, and the inside part of the lever (D) from the escalator will hit the two way switch to stop the escalator from moving.
