Abstract:
[Problem] To prevent damaging or rupture of a heat transfer printing sheet when forming a relief pattern on an image protection layer. [Solution] The present invention drives and controls a thermal head 18 to heat-transfer an image protection layer 15e of a heat transfer sheet 15 onto a print medium 14 and form a relief pattern 40 on the image protection layer 15e. The relief pattern 40 is configured from a corrected pattern 40B corrected from a base pattern 40A which is a pattern comprising multiple island-like portions obtained from high energy pixels 40a, said corrected pattern 40B being corrected so that high energy pixels 40a that are surrounded by high energy pixels 40a that form the edge region of an island-like portion are converted to low energy pixels 40b.
