Abstract:
For the purpose of binding a book using a simple configuration and with all the edges of a bundle of paper sheets being lined up neatly, a printer (100) comprises: a discharged paper tray (12a) for accumulating paper sheets (201) discharged from an upper discharge slot (13b); and a holding member (110) which is provided with a pair of lateral plates (112), (113) for guiding opposite edges (201b), (201c) of each of the paper sheets (201) and which is held integrally with the discharged paper tray (12a) at a position where the paper sheets (201) discharged from the upper discharge slot (13b) is accumulated. The holding member (110) is held so as to be moved to a position, in the width direction (W) of the paper sheets (201), where the discharged paper sheets (201) fit between the pair of lateral plates (112), (113) according to a force that is exerted as a result of the discharged paper sheets (201) hitting the lateral plates (112), (113).
