Abstract:
A printer chip, an ink cartridge comprising the printer chip, and a method of allocating data storage to a printer chip. The printer chip comprises a chip control circuit, a data storage unit configured to store data, and a communication unit configured to communicate with a printer. The data storage unit and the communication unit are electrically connected to the chip control circuit, respectively. The data storage unit comprises an authorization indication bit configured to set the data storage unit to be an unauthorized state or an authorized state. By adding and configuring an authorization indication bit and implementing a matching authentication check, the printer chip can overwrite chip data and maintain a normal operation, extending a service life of the printer chip.
