Abstract:
For rotational speed control in one cycle operation of a printer, three-value control
of ON control, OFF control, and chopper control is performed in place of a two-value
control of ON control and OFF control. Therefore, even if the printer is a small
one having a DC motor with a small output torque, a variation of the rotational speed
due to the load variation in one cycle operation is effectively prevented. The
printer has a DC motor (7), a paper feed unit (5) including a paper feed roller driven
by the DC motor serving as a drive source and a printing mechanism unit (2). A predetermined
length of paper fed by the paper feed unit (5) is printed by the printing mechanism
unit (2). The printer further has an encoder (10) outputting a pulse signal when
the DC motor (7) rotates. The encoder (10) has a pulse generating region for generating
a pulse signal on the same circumference of an encoder plate. The pulse generating
region includes an unequal interval region in a part of an equal interval region.
