Abstract:
A printer capable of automatic and reliable sheet cutting control, stabilized
early, and producing less waste sheets. A web press (1) comprises a cutting cylinder
(51), a mark detector (43), a compensator roller (41), and a sheet-cutting control
section (55) having a detail sheet-cutting control mode (87) in which the cutting
position (83) of a web (13) by varying the position of the compensator roller (41)
at the sheet-cutting timing and the detection timing of a cut mark (69) detected
in a gate signal (81) and having a predetermined relation. The sheet-cutting
control section (55) has a coarse sheet-cutting mode (85) in which the mark detector
(43) detects a mark (89) made over the whole surface of the web, the position of
the compensator roller (41) is varied with the difference between the detection
timing of the mark (89) and the sheet-cutting timing, and the detection timing
of the cut mark (69) is within a gate signal (81)
