Abstract:
To ensure safety of a body which accesses a printer while the printer is in operation. Each sensor (79) of area sensors forming a detection area (B) for prohibiting body access to a carrying means (chain gripper or the like) is arranged on the side of the carrying means of a paper discharge section in a paper discharge device (7). Detecting operation of a part of sensors (79) among the area sensors is controlled to be in off status by a control device (9), interlocking with a presetting instruction for presetting the paper size and with the operation of the printer, and body access to the carrying means is detected, and paper detection by the sensor (79) during printing operation is prevented.
