Abstract:

The invention has its object to uniformize a condition of a printing head pressed against a platen. A printer comprises a frame, a platen (1), a printing head (2) and a pressure body (3), said frame having right and left side walls which are separated from each other with a gap conforming to a width of a recording medium. The platen (1) is mounted between the both side walls and is positioned in front or rear of the printing head (2). The pressure body (3) is incorporated into the frame to cause the printing head (2) in rear to be pressed against the platen (1) in front. The printing head (2) is capable of inclining and freely moving front and rear and right and left depending upon a position of the platen (1), and the pressure body (3) is in point contact with the printing head (2). With such arrangement, the printing head (2) follows the platen (1) front and rear and right and left during printing action and is pressed against it.
