Abstract:

A head part (3b) of an open end of an opening/closing cover section (3) of a printer (1) is provided with projecting parts (T) projecting from the inner wall surface of the opening/closing cover section (3) at areas of contact with a continuous label sheet (P) without backing paper and having an adhesive surface on one surface. Of these projecting parts (T), third projecting parts (T3), which have a projecting length longer than first projecting parts (T1) on a first surface (S1) of the head part (3b) of the opening/closing cover section (3) and second projecting parts (T2) on a second surface (S2), are provided on a third surface (S3) located near the line of intersection between the first surface (S2) and the second surface (S2). When printing and advancing a continuous label sheet (P), the part of the continuous label sheet (P) which has been drawn out of the sheet housing section (6) is supported by the platen roller (10) and the third projecting parts (T3). As a result, the frictional resistance can be reduced when advancing the continuous label sheet (P), thereby improving the ease of advancement of the continuous label sheet (P).
