Abstract:

A printer (100) is provided with: a recording medium holding section (201) for holding a wound, long recording medium such that it is possible to pull out said recording medium from the leading end thereof on the outer circumferential side; a recording section (203) that pulls out the recording medium held by the recording medium holding section (201) to a side vertically higher than the pull-out position from the recording medium holding section (201) and that performs a recording operation on the pulled-out recording medium; and a second cutter mechanism (221) that is provided vertically below the recording medium holding section (201) and that cuts the recording medium on which the recording operation has been performed by the recording section (203) at a rear end separated by a predetermined length from the leading end of the recording medium. The pull-in position of the recording medium toward an inverting path (219) is arranged vertically below the recording medium holding section (201) and the recording section (203).
