Abstract:
This printer (2) comprises: a head part (20) having a nozzle surface (32) that discharges ink toward an object; a drive mechanism (22) that causes the head part (20) to move in a first direction and in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction; a nozzle cap (36) that is capable of moving between a first position, at which the nozzle surface (32) is capped, and a second position, at which the capping of the nozzle surface (32) is released; and a lock mechanism (28) that restricts movement of the head part (20) in the first direction and the second direction in a state in which the nozzle cap (36) is located at the first position.
