Abstract:
This printer has a storage section that stores paper wound into a roll about a cylindrical core, a printing section that prints characters or graphics on the paper, a conveying section that conveys the paper from the storage section to the printing section, a reference surface that faces one end surface of the paper stored in the storage section, and a partitioning plate facing the other end surface of the paper stored in the storage section. The partitioning plate has a support plate capable of turning within the plane of the partitioning plate, a sensor that is mounted on the support plate and that detects when the remaining paper quantity has decreased to a designated quantity, and a pushing member that pushes in the end surface of the paper via a pushing surface disposed so as to at least overlap a point at the center of the turning of the support plate.
