Abstract:
Provided is a printer that moves flaps by means of drive mechanisms the number of which is less than that of the flaps, thereby enabling the number of parts involved in the driving of the flaps to be reduced. This printer comprises: a first flap (print discharge switching flap) (72) that switches the path of sheets transported in a transport direction to one of first and second paths; a second flap (de-curl switching flap) (74) that is provided downstream of the first flap (72) in the transport direction and switches the path of the sheets transported through the second path to one of third and fourth paths; a movable member (51) that shifts in a sheet-width direction W orthogonal to the transport direction; and a switching mechanism (52) that switches the first flap between a state in which the moving member (51) is situated in a first position P1 along the width direction W and a state other than said state, and switches the second flap between a state in which said member is situated in a second position P2 and a state other than said state.
