Abstract:
Provided is technology capable of appropriately predicting misalignment between images printed by a plurality of ejection units. An ejection control unit (51) causes a first head (21) to print a first target image and a first mark (M1), and a second head (22) to print a second target image and a second mark (M2). A misalignment amount acquisition unit (53) measures the amount of misalignment of the second mark (M2) with respect to the first mark (M1). A misalignment amount prediction unit (55) has a reasoner (551) that receives, as input, the measured values output by a plurality of sensors (30), and outputs a predicted value of the misalignment amount. While a transport mechanism (10) is transporting a continuous base material (9), a training control unit (57) updates the reasoner (551) by training the reasoner (551) to receive, as input, the measured values output by the plurality of sensors (30), and output the misalignment amount acquired by the misalignment amount acquisition unit (53).
