Abstract:

This printing device provided with: a printing drum (17) which holds and transports a sheet (4); a supply-side transfer drum (16 (sheet supply unit)) which supplies the sheet (4) to the printing drum (17) at a supply position (P1); first to fourth ink jet heads (27-30); and a transport mechanism (18) which receives at a reception position (P2) the sheet (4) that has been printed, and which transports the sheet (4) to either a discharge route (43) or an inverting route (42). The inverting route (42) is configured to return the inverted sheet (4) to the printing drum (17) at a return position (P3) which is on the downstream side, in the transport direction of the sheet (4), of the reception position (P2), and which is on the upstream side, in the transport direction of the sheet (4), of the supply position (P1). A cooling means (45) for cooling a transport surface (24 (outer peripheral surface)) of the printing drum (17) is provided between the reception position (P2) and the return position (P3). The invention provides a printing device in which a temperature increase of the transport surface of the printing drum can be restricted, thereby making it possible for an appropriate sheet temperature to be obtained at all times.
